MONCAP SANTÉ and volunteer medical professionals organised a health initiative for minors detained at the Hann Remand and Correctional Facility (MAC). The General Directorate of Penitentiary Administration (DGAP) welcomed the initiative for residents of the facility.

Consultations, screenings and medicines

The operation gave the young detainees access to medical consultations, screenings and specialised care. Medicines were also distributed free of charge, according to the information provided.

Sessions on prevention and hygiene complemented the medical care. They form part of efforts to improve beneficiaries’ awareness of these health issues.

Volunteer mobilisation

Named “Vacances Médicales”, the initiative brings together doctors, nurses, medical students and volunteer partners. These participants contribute their skills to the community through this solidarity and public health initiative.

For the DGAP, the programme helps strengthen access to healthcare for people deprived of their liberty. The prison administration also highlighted its contribution to the dignity, health and well-being of the detainees concerned.

The General Directorate of Penitentiary Administration thanked MONCAP SANTÉ and all the professionals mobilised for the operation at the Hann MAC.
