On 22 August 2026, the Green Sédhiou association handed over cleaning equipment, seedlings and improved stoves to the Kambing Kafo women’s group in Moricounda, in the Sédhiou region.
The package includes Diambar stoves, seedlings intended to strengthen vegetation cover, as well as rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and rubbish bins.
Support for sanitation operations
The group’s women’s spokesperson, Fatoumata Coly, said the beneficiaries were already carrying out community clean-up operations, but lacked equipment and rubbish bins. She assured that the equipment would be made available to the entire neighbourhood.
The donation therefore combines upkeep of the living environment, tree planting and the use of improved stoves.
Call for proper use
During the ceremony, the deputy prefect of Sédhiou urged the beneficiaries to use the equipment appropriately. He also stressed that restoring the ecosystem requires supporting communities in adopting good practices.
